MAXIM INVESTMENT GROUP LTD. (BAHAMAS) – an international fund created by 365 Developments Ltd. for the acquisition of distressed properties in Southern Nevada.
DYNASTY PROPERTIES INTERNATIONAL LTD. – involved in acquisition, retrofitting, and management of residential property in Greater Las Vegas.

SCENIC GARDENS – a 46-unit condo townhouse development located on Scurfield Drive, SW. This project was completed in 1994.
CHRISTIE VIEW POINTE – a 60-unit side by side villa development located on 17th Avenue, SW between Sarcee Trail and 69 Street, SW. This project was completed in 1999.
ELMONT COURT – a subdivision located on the NW corner of Elmont Drive and 69 Street, SW. This project consisted of 22-single family house lots and was completed in 2007.
ELMONT MEWS – a subdivision located on the SW corner of Elmont Drive and 69 Street, SW. This project consisted of 19-single family house lots and was later sold to a Home Builder. This project was completed in 2008.
MAXIM BUILDING (previously named SOMA BUILDING) – an acquisition and complete office & base building retrofitting project located at 630 - 8th Avenue, SW in the heart of downtown Calgary. This project consisted of 60,000 sq ft of re-developed office space.
PETRO CHEMICAL BUILDING – an acquisition and complete office & base building retrofitting project located at 805 - 8th Avenue, SW in the heart of downtown Calgary. This project consisted of over 100,000 sq ft of re-developed office space.
OASIS FINE HOMES LTD – a culmination of joint venture investors as well as a single major shareholder; this company developed and built hundreds of houses every year between 1994 and 2005.
LANGDON MEWS (APPLICATION IN PROGRESS) – currently in a concept plan and development permit stage, this project is a 140 acre land next to a golf course development.
UNITED HORSEMAN RACETRACK DEVELOPMENT IN BALZAC ALBERTA. – a project inclusive of land acquisition and complete development; this was an aggressive undertaking that provided assistance to the planning and fund raising to the late Dwight McLellan for a CAN$200mn comprehensive horse racetrack and casino.
MCLELLAN RANCH 650 ACRE LAND – a property north of Chestermere (Greater Calgary), was part of a land assembly, concept plan and syndication with the late Dwight McLellan. This project was successfully sold to the Homburg group and then to Bob Harris of the Centron Group.
ALBERTA RESIDENTIAL MORTGAGE FUND – a syndication of funds raised out of Hong Kong and Taiwan, this money pool was for the purpose of residential mortgage lending. This fund was administered with Frank Boyd, CEO of Apex Group.
MARA SANDS RESORT – a bungalow luxury waterfront development with private marina and beach area, this project is located in the North Okanagan on the south end of Mara Lake. The project was completed in 1998 with project value of CAN$16mn.
LAKE NEWELL RESORT (DEVELOPMENT IN PROGRESS) – a joint venture with Jeet Shergill after foreclosing on the property in December, 2004. This project consists of 400-acres of waterfront land along both shores of the Greenwald Inlet of the lake. Five phases have been developed into fully serviced building lots with over 200 houses already built. Also includes a marina and club house that are now in operation. Further development of this project is in progress.
CAROLINE ANTI-AGING FACILITY – a joint venture with Swiss and Hong Kong developers for a Nano technology anti-aging community development inclusive of all amenities. Total potential project value of over USD700mn. Currently contracts underway for 5+ facilities worldwide.
WINDTOWER MOUNTAIN LODGE AND SUITES (HOTEL OPERATION IN PROGRESS) – a development of 120-condominium hotel suites and residences in Canmore (Greater Calgary). This project was developed with Standens Hospitality Services and was completed and commissioned in 2005.
OAKVIEW GARDENS – a 42-unit 4 story condominium development with underground parking located on West 16th Street and Oak Street. This project was completed in 2004.
FRASERWOODS – a 37-unit townhouse development located at Road No. 9, Richmond (Greater Vancouver). This project was completed in 2005.
CRYSTAL WATERS – a 35-lot single family waterfront subdivision located at 18451 Crystal Water Road, Oyama (Greater Kelowna) that occupies approximately 12 acres. The total project was valued at approximately CAN$16mn. The project was completed in 2006.
185 ACRE DEVELOPMENT SITE (PLANNING IN PROGRESS) – this project includes the acquisition of land in February 2013 that is situated within the North Cochrane ASP of the Rockyview County (Greater Calgary). This project will be developed into approximately 170-190 residential lots. Planning is underway.

Shawn Samol has been in the real estate and development industry since 1991. Starting his career in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Mr. Samol was a licensed realtor and consultant to various multi-family and high-rise projects throughout the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Initially starting in the marketing and sales, he eventually got involved with the construction, design and the financing under the direction and training of Richard Coleman of Beaconcare Enterprises Inc. Rich Coleman (whom Shawn served as a protégé under) has notably gone on to politics and has served as the Deputy Premier, Minister of Natural Gas Development and Minister Responsible for Housing in the province of British Columbia, Canada.
In 1993, Shawn started his own development company (Samol Development Corporation) and developed ‘Mara Sands Resort’, a water front resort project in the North Okanagan of British Columbia. These successful projects lead to his participation as a consultant to assist the North Okanagan Regional District with additional zoning creations in the area.
In 1998 Shawn ventured to Calgary, Alberta where he currently spends most of his time if he is not in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as travelling throughout Canada and the US. He started with the acquisition of multi-family buildings in which he restructured the management and financing before reselling them at new and improved Rates of Return. His major projects included the purchase and refurbishment of two (2) downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada high-rises where his development and construction company (Maxim Development Group) retrofitted them completely. These buildings are currently the Maxim Building at 630 8th Avenue, SW and the Petro Chemical Building at 805 8th Avenue, SW in Calgary, Alberta. He then re-leased the properties to companies wanting his eclectic interior design, yet the quality and amenities of a Class ‘A’ commercial building inclusive of the power of fiber optics and Point of Presence (POP) sights that were part of the signature of his buildings. His company had also completed hundreds of thousands of square feet of (TI) Tenant Improvement Construction in downtown high-rises over the years. Shawn has won various awards from ‘The Calgary Downtown Association’ in recognition of the beautification of the downtown core.
With Stephen Law, Shawn has several companies in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA (365 Developments Ltd./Maxim Development Group Ltd.) and the Bahamas (Maxim Investment Group Ltd.) that acquire real estate, restructure management, as well as refurbish and correct distressed property scenarios. Shawn has worked with asset managers and realtors to acquire REO’s (bank owned real estate) and distressed property scenarios. The most recent fund (Maxim Investment Group Ltd. - Bahamas) has been a major success in the acquisition of HOA Liens for the purpose of conversion into real property and eventual disposition. Not emphasized in his bio, but also very notable are the many projects Shawn has participated in with his partner Stephen Law and highlighted in the ‘Additional Projects (Partial List)’ section of this site. Shawn achieves his success by having an extensive expertise in all major aspects of the real estate industry.

Stephen Law graduated from the University of Hong Kong in the Civil Engineering Faculty in 1974 with Bachelor of Science (Engineering) degree with Honors. He completed training in the Public Works Department of the Hong Kong government and became registered professional engineers in both HK and United Kingdom. Stephen has been registered as a professional engineer in Ontario since 1990 and in Alberta since 1999. His reputation and forte is as a known developer and investor.
In Hong Kong, Stephen’s notable projects have included the modernization and electrification of the Kowloon-Canton railway from Hong Kong to the China border; Port Development and Highways designs and significant development in Hong Kong.
Stephen immigrated to Canada in 1987 with a focus on the acquisition and development of real estate. In Calgary alone, he has purchased over 500 units of townhouses and apartment condos. As well, he set up his brokerage and property management company in order to provide after-sale service to his oversea clients. Stephen also did similar real estate acquisitions in Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby (British Columbia, Canada) as well as throughout Alberta, Canada.
In 1990, He started purchasing land for subdivision for building new homes and multi-family residential development of townhouses and apartment condos in Calgary, Vancouver and Richmond areas (Western Canada). He has also been instrumental in the assembly and successful syndication of land. Later on, he formed a new home builder company which builds about 100 houses a year.
In and around 2000, he completed acquisition and retrofitting of two office buildings in downtown Calgary. He also obtained interests in out of town land subdivisions, land acquisitions, waterfront resort developments and hotel developments. Stephen was also involved in all the project planning, design and fund raising for the CDPI projects (Canadian Destination Properties Inc.) which includes the late Dwight McLellan United Horseman Alberta racetrack entertainment facility in Balzac which is called the Century Downs Racetrack and Casino. Since 2010, concurrent with the development of the 400- acre water-front resort project, Stephen has been active in land & housing acquisition, retrofitting and real estate management in Greater Las Vegas, Nevada. With Shawn Samol, he has specialized in the acquisition of REO’s (bank owned real estate), HOA (Homeowners Association) auction and general distressed property scenarios. It is also important to note, his partnerships with Shawn Samol have been significant as displayed in the ‘Additional Projects (Partial List)’.
